Camping La Ferme de lac Fee reviews

France, Savoie, Les Marches, Camping La Ferme du Lac

The Miller Family | June 2025

If you are looking for those massive, loud "mega-campsites" with 24/7 loud music, this isn't it, and that’s exactly why we loved it. We spent a week here in the summer of 2025, and it was the perfect base for exploring the Savoie wine region and the mountains. It’s a 3-star site that feels like it’s run with 5-star heart. We recieved the warmest welcome. It’s a family-run business, and you can really tell. The owners were incredibly helpful, always ready with a map or a recommendation for a local hike. They even have a fresh bread and croissant service every morning that the kids made their daily mission to collect. For a smaller site, the maintenance is amazing. The flower gardens are beautiful, and the sanitary blocks were some of the cleanest we’ve seen in France—constantly being tidied. The heated outdoor pool isn't huge, but it has plenty of loungers and a stunning 360° view of the surrounding mountains. It was never too crowded, so we actually got to relax while the kids splashed around. We loved the 2km walk around the nearby Lac de Saint-André. It’s a flat, easy stroll perfect for little legs, with the massive cliff of Mont Granier looming over you. It’s also an easy 15-minute walk into the village of Les Marches for a nice dinner.

Things to note
> There isn’t much "organized" entertainment for older teens. If your kids need a high-energy kids' club to stay happy, they might find it a bit too peaceful here. The snack bar is great (the French fries are a hit!), but it’s not a full-scale restaurant. On some nights (like Saturdays), the main kitchen was closed because a local pizza truck visits instead—which we loved, but it’s good to know so you can plan ahead! Like many mountain sites, the Wi-Fi can be a bit patchy. It worked best near the reception area, but don't count on streaming movies in your van or tent at the back of the site.

The Ben Family | June 2015

Stayed here in June and had a wonderful time. The site is really well kept and surrounded by lovely countryside. This campsite is superb for relaxing or having lots of fun in the great outdoors with plenty of orchards to walk around and windy rivers for fishing. The kids loved exploring the shallow lakes and especially liked canoeing, the pedalos and horse riding which is less than 20 minutes walk. I would recommend La Ferme de la Fée for younger children as there are few facilities for teenagers here unless you endeavoured to use the campsite to stay the night and visit Disneyland Resort or the Parc Asterix theme park.

Overall the campsite is quiet at night due to it having little entertainment, has few activities but maintained to very high standards and set in beautiful surroundings.

The Forshaw Family | August 2013

Spent two weeks at Ferme de la Fée which was a little too long as the kids tended to get bored in the second week. The site is in a fairly good location for Paris and Disneyland which is the main reason we chose it. Disney is about 40-50 minutes by car depending on traffic and Paris is over an hour but quicker by train. We visited the Palace of Versaille which is very grand and the gardens are out of this world.

There are a few water sport activities in and surrounding the campsite and a lake if you're a keen fisher, but I wouldn't suggest this site for entertaining children throughout a long break, more of a tranquil location to use as a stepping stone to the delights of Paris.

The Mill Family | July 2012

Stayed at this campsite for 3 days on our 10 day holiday touring Paris and the Loire. A nice quaint little campsite with not many facilities but wonderful surroundings for walks and cycling. We chosen Eurocamp accommodation which was clean and had decking, ideal for al fresco and keeping an eye on the kids. The write up of the campsite was misleading as it suggested Disney and Paris being close, but it was around an hours drive for both (give or take 10 minutes as I think we took a scenic route).
The owners of the campsite however were very helpful and friendly and the location was outstanding.
