Baia Holiday Isuledda reviews

Italy, Sardinia, Olbia-Tempio, Cannigione, Baia Holiday Isuledda

The Smith Family | July 2023

We just spent ten days at Baia Holiday Isuledda, and if your family loves the sea, this place is basically unbeatable. It’s located on a private peninsula, which means you’re surrounded by that famous turquoise Sardinian water on almost every side. For us, traveling with a 3 and 5-year-old, it felt like having a giant, safe coastal playground all to ourselves.

There are several small beaches right on the site. We loved that we could pick a different cove depending on where the wind was coming from. The water is incredibly clear and shallow for a long way out—perfect for the kids to splash around without us worrying about big waves. When we weren't at the beach, we were at the pool. It has a great shallow area for little ones, and the entertainment team kept the "mini-club" energy high. The kids still talk about the dances! The amphitheater has a stunning backdrop. Watching the sunset while the kids joined in the mini-disco was a highlight. In 2023, the shows were quite professional, and there’s a nice gelateria nearby for a post-show treat. The On-Site Spa is a bit of a hidden gem! We took turns sneaking off for a quick "wellness" session. Having a sauna and massage facilities with a sea view on a campsite felt very luxury.

Things to Keep in Mind
- The "Premium" Price Tag: It’s no secret that Sardinia is expensive, and this site reflects that. The on-site supermarket is great but significantly pricier than the stores in nearby Cannigione. We’d recommend doing a big "nappy and snack" run before you arrive.
- Evening Noise: Because the site is on a peninsula, sound carries. In the peak 2022/2023 seasons, the music from the nearby beach clubs or the site’s own disco could be heard quite clearly until late. If your kids are very light sleepers, it's worth bringing a white noise machine.
- Slow Check-In: We arrived on a Saturday, and the wait at reception was quite long (nearly an hour). The staff were lovely, but the process felt a bit old-school and slow after a long day of travel.

The holiday home
We stayed in a Suncamp SunLodge (Premium Mobile Home), and honestly, it transformed the holiday. The biggest benefit of the Suncamp accommodation at Isuledda is the guaranteed comfort and space in a site where some of the standard bungalows can feel a bit compact. Our SunLodge was a "proper" home—the beds were surprisingly soft (not the usual thin campsite mattresses!), and we had two bathrooms, which made the morning routine with two kids so much smoother. The extra-large covered wooden terrace was our absolute favorite part. Because the site is quite hilly and sun-drenched, having that huge shaded outdoor living area meant the kids could play with their Lego in the cool breeze while we prepped lunch. Also, Suncamp has some of the best-positioned pitches, we were just a short flat walk to the beach, so we didn't have to lug the cooler bags and buckets up and down the steeper parts of the peninsula. It felt like having a boutique beach villa for a fraction of the price!
