Camping Esterel reviews

We took our 7-year-old son to this campsite and had great fun. Located in the heart of the stunning Esterel mountains, this site feels more like a luxury resort than a standard campsite. It’s perfect for families who want high-end facilities with a touch of adventure. There are five pools, but the standout for a 7-year-old is the Jungle Pool, a heated indoor play area with slides and water jets. Outside, there are massive racer slides and a unique white-sand beach area with palm trees—perfect for parents to lounge while keeping an eye on the water. The "Mini Club" (ages 4–12) was a hit; our son loved the treasure hunts and archery. There's also mini-golf, tennis, and even a skate park on-site. Many of the mobile homes here are top-tier. Ours even had a private jacuzzi on the deck, which was the ultimate way to relax after the kids went to sleep. The backdrop of the red volcanic rock of the Esterel Massif against the blue sky is breathtaking, especially at sunset.

Went for a 2 week holiday in May here and had a wonderful time. I would sum it up as a premium, polished experience. It’s slightly more expensive than other sites, but the quality of the pools and the spectacular mountain setting make it worth every penny. The cheapest we found it was with Eurocampings which was surprisingly cheaper than booking direct. Like many hillside sites, it’s quite steep. You’ll definitely get your steps in! If you have a child who tires easily, try to request a pitch closer to the main hub. While there is a shuttle in peak season, having a car is almost essential for exploring the local area easily.

A few places we visited in the area and reccommend:

- Agay Bay (about 10 minute drive): The nearest beach. It’s a beautiful horseshoe bay with calm, shallow water and soft sand—ideal for a 7-year-old to paddle safely.
- Saint-Raphaël (15 minute drive): A classic Riviera town. We loved the Ferris wheel and the old-fashioned carousel on the promenade.
- Massif de l'Esterel: Right on your doorstep. We did a family hike up to some of the lower viewpoints; the red rocks and blue sea views are like something out of a movie.
- Marineland & Aquasplash (45 minute drive): Located near Antibes, this is a long but worthwhile day trip for a 7-year-old to see the marine life and hit the massive water slides.
